Jamia Protests: ఢిల్లీలోని ప్రతిష్టాత్మక జామియా మిలియా ఇస్లామియా విశ్వవిద్యాలయంలో విద్యార్థి సంఘం ఎన్నికలను పునరుద్ధరించాలని డిమాండ్ చేస్తూ జరుగుతున్న ఆందోళనలు ఉద్రిక్తతకు దారితీశాయి. క్యాంపస్‌లో విద్యార్థులకు, సెక్యూరిటీ గార్డులకు మధ్య తీవ్ర ఘర్షణ జరగడంతో పరిస్థితి అదుపు తప్పింది. దీంతో విశ్వవిద్యాలయ యంత్రాంగం తరగతులను ఆన్‌లైన్‌ విధానంలోకి మారుస్తున్నట్లు ప్రకటించింది.
క్యాంపస్‌లో గత కొంతకాలంగా ఆందోళన చేస్తున్న విద్యార్థులు నిరసన శిబిరాలను ఏర్పాటు చేసుకున్నారు. ఇందులో కొంతమంది నిరాహార దీక్ష కూడా చేపట్టారు. దీన్ని పర్యవేక్షిస్తున్న సెక్యూరిటీ గార్డులు ఆ టెంట్లను తొలగించేందుకు ప్రయత్నించడంతో ఒక్కసారిగా గందరగోళం చెలరేగింది. ఇరువర్గాల మధ్య ఘర్షణ వాతావరణం నెలకొనడంతో క్యాంపస్‌లో ఉద్రిక్తత తారాస్థాయికి చేరింది.

ఈ ఘటనపై విశ్వవిద్యాలయ రిజిస్ట్రార్‌ మహ్తాబ్ ఆలం రిజ్వి స్పందిస్తూ.. కాంగ్రెస్ నేతల రాక వల్లే క్యాంపస్‌లో వాతావరణం దెబ్బతిందని మండిపడ్డారు. గురువారం కాంగ్రెస్ ఎంపీలు ఇమ్రాన్ ప్రతాప్‌గర్హి, ఇమ్రాన్ మసూద్‌లు గోడ దూకి క్యాంపస్‌లోకి చొరబడ్డారని ఆరోపించారు. రాజకీయ లబ్ధికోసం కొందరు విద్యార్థులను పావులుగా మారుస్తున్నారని, బయటి వ్యక్తుల ప్రమేయం వల్లే విద్యార్థులు రెచ్చిపోయారని రిజ్వి పేర్కొన్నారు. ఈ ఘటనపై ఇప్పటికే ఢిల్లీ పోలీసులకు ఫిర్యాదు చేసినట్లు ఆయన తెలిపారు.
అయితే విద్యార్థుల వెర్షన్ మరోలా ఉంది. ఎలాంటి రెచ్చగొట్టే చర్యలకు పాల్పడకపోయినా నిరాహార దీక్ష చేస్తున్న విద్యార్థులపై జామియా యంత్రాంగం అకారణంగా దాడికి పాల్పడిందని వామపక్ష విద్యార్థి సంఘం ‘ఐసా’ (AISA) తీవ్రంగా ఆరోపించింది. విద్యార్థులతో సెక్యూరిటీ గార్డ్స్ దురుసుగా ప్రవర్తించారని మండిపడింది. మరోవైపు విద్యార్థుల ఆరోపణల్లో ఎలాంటి వాస్తవం లేదని యూనివర్శిటీ యంత్రాంగం పేర్కొంది.

యూనివర్శిటీలో విద్యార్థి సంఘం (JMISU)ను పునరుద్ధరించాలని కోరుతూ అక్టోబర్ 12 నుంచి నిరసనలు కొనసాగుతున్నాయి. 2006లో క్యాంపస్‌లో జరిగిన హింసాత్మక ఘటనలు, విద్యా కార్యకలాపాలకు అంతరాయం కలగడంతో అప్పట్లో ఈ విద్యార్థి సంఘాన్ని రద్దు చేశారు. నాటి నుంచి ఇప్పటివరకు దీనిని పునరుద్ధరించాలని విద్యార్థులు పలుమార్లు డిమాండ్ చేస్తూనే ఉన్నారు.
